Elaboration of the cereals production in the semiarid surroundings of the east Algerian is dictated by logics of agriculture-raising systems consistency in relation to the management of the cultural previous, notably the fallow before ploughing and the setting up of the cereals. The objective of the study is to identify the cultural practices in relation with the natural factors and the typology of the farms. One supposing that elaboration of the cereals yield is based on the cultural practices but no on factors of performance. The study relates to the follow-up of 16 farms in three climatic stages of the area of Setif in Algerian East during two crop years. Beyond the individual analysis of the farms, one is interested in the units of exploitations being able to be represented by the same model. The results show that the cultivation methods of cereals depend on the comprehensive strategy of the agricultural production and in particular of the management of the pieces according to the factors agro-ecological and structural of the farms.
