أبو العباس المبرّد شخصية أدبية برزت في القرن الثالث للهجري، شهر بكتابيه الكامل والمقتضب، أخذ علمه عن علماء أجلاء، وعلى رأسهم سيبويه من خلال الكتاب، إذ يعد من الذين يعرفون عويصه وضبط مسائله، واحتل مكانة بارزة مرموقة بعلمه في اللغة بين معاصريه، وشهد له من تأخر عنه بعلمه، وأثنى عليه العلماء، وسنحاول في هذا المقال تناول جهوده اللغوية في كتابه المقتضب.
