A top Moroccan security official has said the crackdown on radical Islamist groups in North Africa is "a near-daily" struggle. He pointed out that four separate terror cells are being prosecuted so far this year, revealing networks that extend from Europe to the Iraqi insurgency. Abdelhak Bassou, the head of the Renseignements Generaux, Morocco's key domestic intelligence agency, said most of these Moroccan cells reach out to al-Qaida in Iraq via militant bases in neighboring Algeria.
