تأتي النظريات الدلالية العربية والغربية تأكيدا على الدور المحوري الذي يؤديه المعنى في صياغة نظرية لسانية شاملة للغة، وعلى تحديد العلائق الخطيرة التي تتشكل عند تضافر مختلف المستويات اللغوية الأخرى، ومن بين المفاهيم التي تتصل مباشرة بالمعنى هما "التركيب والتعالق" وبالتالي فإنه من الأهمية بما كان تحليل التراكيب تحليلا إفراديا وعلائقيا، فالأوّل يهتم بتصنيف المقولات القاعدية المختلفة (صوتية معجمية نحوية صرفية ...) والتي تبنى على شروط وتحديدات متفقة من حيث القصد ومختلفة من حيث التحليل بين التفسير والتأويل ....
